A fear that i overcome

 A fear that I overcame was shooting a gun. My stepdad had a lot of guns because he was a gun guy. But at Christmas, he had bought me a rifle. It wasn't big but it was a rifle. I shot it the first time but wasn't scared. But the other big guns he had I was afraid. They were very loud and scary they could've pushed me back like Kevin Hart in Ride Along. But that one day he was in the back I had just gotten out of school it was deafening and I was super happy because it is good times when we shoot guns. He told me to shoot it jordon I had to shoot the gun. It was very heavy and I was scared but I shot it and it pushed me back. But I was ok I was happy that I overcome that and it was a good day. But today in class we started our project about a book called " A Lesson Before Dying," by Ernest J. Gaines. It taught me to watch my surroundings and make sure I stay out of trouble. It's a very good book I would like other people to read it because it teaches you a lot of things.

When I become an adult, I would prefer to live in the suburbs rather than the city. While city life has many exciting opportunities, I believe suburban life offers a better balance of affordability, space, and peace, which are important for a comfortable and stable lifestyle. One of the biggest advantages of suburban life is having more space. In the suburbs, homes are larger, and many have backyards, which would provide a better environment for relaxation and possibly raising a family in the future. Unlike the city, where apartments can feel cramped, suburban living allows for more personal space and privacy. We had to get on Commonlit and do some work and our blog post. But it shows me that when you grow up you are going to move and you have to make sure that you are ready to make that plan.

The holiday I look forward to most each year is Thanksgiving. There’s something about it that feels grounding, like a pause button in the middle of all the chaos. It’s not about presents or decorations; it’s about people, food, and presence. That’s what makes it my favorite. Every year, my family gathers at my grandmother’s house. The kitchen fills with the smells of roasted turkey, sweet potatoes, and her famous homemade rolls. We all pitch in — chopping vegetables, setting the table, sneaking bites of pie filling when we think no one’s looking. The TV hums in the background with the Macy’s parade or football, but the real show is the laughter and storytelling that happens in the dining room. Before we eat, we go around the table and say what we’re thankful for. It might sound cheesy, but those moments are the most honest of the year. We speak from the heart. Sometimes we cry.
